Depot Day 17
Depot Day 17 was great even with all the competition. Several new events were added. For the kiddies there were 27 foot slides and rock climbing. Several dignitaries were auctioned again with the live auction bringing in over $3000. There was a silent auction and of course everyone was interested in Dr. Ware's office and barbershop. This addition was fairly new and the doctor's office is completely furnished with all of his memorabilia. Mr. Tony Gullo was kind enough to donate a 1930s barber chair and barber pole to complete the furnishing of the barber shop
The 1920s sawmill has recently bee reassembled and it stands at the back of the property. The Historical Society is in the process of extending the pavilion 10 feet so there will be more covered area in case of rain. Quite a bit of landscaping has been done to make the entire Depot Complex a beautiful part of Magnolia.
Go to http://www.depotdays.com/ for the craft booth application for Depot Day 18. Several historical items will be added to the Depot Complex for viewing.
